Collected Works by Alexander Pushkin is an experimental project by the Russian Virtual Library. Its aim is to gather together English translations of Pushkin’s works and to provide them with a parallel Russian text.

Every work can be read in three modes: in Russian, in English and as a bilingual parallel text.

The source of the original text is Collected Works by Alexander Pushkin in 10 volumes, Moscow, 1959-1962.

Some popular works have multiple translations. The sources of translations vary. We include a reference or a link to the source where possible.

We intend to cover all genres of Pushkin’s work proceeding step by step starting from poems. It is our hope that the project will grow over time into an invaluable resource for scholars, students and lovers of literature.

Many translations cannot be used due to copyright reasons. Therefore, we shall concentrate on the translations in public domain and non-commercial translations. We invite translators and publishers to participate in the project. Feel free to contact me at [email protected].
